Beginners Shotgun Safety Masterclass

Join us at Mid Norfolk Shooting Ground for a hands-on workshop designed for those new to clay/game shooting or looking to obtain their certificate. This in-person workshop This workshop covers everything you need to know about shotgun safety, proper handling, transportation, and maintenance, based on Home Office and Police guidelines.

Our experienced instructors will guide you through the essentials, ensuring you attain the foundational knowledge required to handle a shotgun safely and responsibly.

  • Safe transportation procedures
  • Cleaning and maintenance

This workshop is an excellent opportunity to build your confidence and competence with shotguns in a safe and supportive environment.

Saturday Clay Shooting Dates 2025

We are OPEN for clay shooting practice on the following Saturdays:

      • January 10th & 24th

      • February 7th & 21st

      • March 7th & 21st

      • April 4th & 18th

      • May 2nd, 16th & 30th

      • June 13th & 27th

      • July 11th & 25th

      • August 8th & 22nd

      • September 5th & 19th

      • October 3rd, 17th & 31st

      • November 14th & 28th

      • December 12th & 26th

Please note that the shop is open every Saturday from 10am-4pm and the and ground is available for air gunning, archery and axe throwing.  It is only the clay shooting that has planning restrictions and is every other Saturday as above.

Saturday Air Gun Field Target Dates

Our air gun range is open every week Tues-Sat 10am-4pm, but the field targets throughout the wood (found on the clay stands) are restricted to when we are not open for clays, as follows:

      • Tuesdays 10am-4pm
      • Wednesdays, Thursdays & Fridays 2pm-4pm 

Plus the field targets, situated on the clay shooting stands around the ground, every other Saturday (when not clay shooting) 10am-4pm.

 Christmas Opening 2026 (other dates tbc)

        • Thursday 24th – Open 10am-2pm

        • Friday 25th – Closed

        • Saturday 26th – Closed

        • Sunday 27th – Open 10am-2pm

        • Monday 28th – Closed

        • Tuesday 29th – Open (no open practice: lessons only)

        • Wednesday 30th – Open

        • Thursday 31st – Open 10am-2pm

        • Friday 1st January – Closed

        • Saturday 2nd January onwards, normal opening times resumes
